The International Olympic Committee, IOC’s announcement of the countries hosting next set of Olympics is coming one month earlier than expected. The IOC is expected to announce that Paris will host the 2024 edition of the Games, while Los Angeles will host in 2028.

LA and Paris were the final cities in contention to host the Games in 2024, as they both submitted bids. The IOC had in June resolved to announce host cities for the Summer games in 2024  and 2028 at once.

In the meantime, the Los Angeles Times had on Monday reported that an agreement had been reached by both representatives of LA and the IOC that the former had accepted to host in 2028 and conceded that of 2024 to Paris.

The games would be a special one for Paris, because it would be a centennial celebration for the French city which last hosted the Olympics in 1924. Los Angeles had its shots in 1932 and 1984.

There have been speculations that the Southern California city of Los Angeles was more favorable to hosting in 2028, there it was no surprise that it ended up having it.
