Former NFL star, Aaron Hernandez, has been pronounced dead at a hospital. Massachusetts prison officials say the 27 year-old was found hanged in his cell after 3 am on Wednesday.
Authorities tried to revive Hernandez who was in a single cell to no avail until he was pronounced dead at UMass Memorial- Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster at 4:07am.
The former New England Patriots tight end was serving a life sentence for a 2013 murder and was acquitted Friday in a 2012 double slaying prosecutors, aggravated by his anger at a night club over spilled drink.
Correction Department spokesperson, Christopher Fallon said Aaron did not show any sign of being suicidal else he would have been transferred to a mental health unit. No suicide note have been found yet.
Aaron Hernandez committed suicide using a bed sheet attached to his cell window to hang himself.
