Meanwhile in Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun, has been sworn in as the fifth governor of the state for a four-year term.

Abiodun was sworn-in alongside his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, after they both took the oath of allegiance and oath of office at the MKO Abiola Stadium Kuto, in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The oath of office was administered by the Chief Judge of the state, Hon Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, on Governor Dapo Abiodun, who incidentally clocked 59 on the same day he takes office as governor of the Gateway state.

Shettima hands over to Zulum

In Borno State, A Professor and former university Don, Babagana Zulum has been sworn in. He was sworn-in alongside his deputy, Umar Kadafur. The outgoing Governor, Kashim Shettima expressed optimism that the new governor would initiate viable programmes that would address the Boko Haram insurgency. He called on the people to support the Zulum administration.

Seyi Makinde becomes 28th Governor of Oyo State

Mr Seyi Makinde is the 28thGovernor of Oyo state after taking the oath of office at the Liberty stadium in Ibadan, the state capital. The state Chief Judge Munta Abiola administered the oath on the governor and his deputy, Rauf Olaniyan.
